In November 2021, the land purchase was finally approved by the Senegalese Government, nearly two years after we purchased it!

In December 2021, a well was dug (by hand!), and miraculously water was discovered only 25 feet down. This is a gift from God!

A perimeter fence surrounding the 3.6-acre property is being started in January 2022. Estimated completion: April 2022. This project will employ several local men.

As of October 2022, the fence is 95% of the way complete with only 200 feet remaining.

In spring 2024, crops and trees were planted. You can see pictures of the progress below. The boys and girls have learned valuable life skills over this past summer taking care of the plants and harvesting.
Our team is planning, God willing, to start construction of Sanctuary of Love homes on our land in addition to the two homes we rent currently where the children stay. The construction will advance as donations are received. We are a non-denominational, non-profit, independent ministry. We were founded on faith and prayer and are supported by friends and family who have a heart for the vulnerable Senegalese children.
